What color tie goes best with a navy suit?
pgiggles asked:
I would like to get my BF a new tie. He mainly wears this suit to weddings and other occasions. He may wear it to work occasionally. Most of the ones I have found are some sort of Navy stripe, but I was looking for something a little more fun like purple or orange. What are you suggestions? He usually wears a white or light blue shirt with it.

look around for a shirt and tie combo, they are already matched. but any color is great as long as the socks match and he likes the color. but all gurls know tell a man they look great and they will like it.

The first thing that came to mind was light blue but, better yet maybe a multi-colored like paisley?

a light purple would look nice with a blue. or you could try a nice light pink if he is ok with that color. blue usually goes with purple, pink, light blue, or even a brown. STAY AWAY from reds, yellows, blacks, greens. thy just would not look right at all

black, dark grey, white. you have to do a neutral tone red^ will make him look like a sailor.

Dark blue tie goes very well with light blue or white shirt and navy suit.
Red tie also looks great.
Could also get a mostly-blue and somewhat silver tie I’m thinking.

I think either a red paisley tie if he wears a white shirt or a tie with different shades of blues and yellows in it if he wears a light blue shirt. Definitely not purple or orange, as you don’t want him to glow in the dark. Also in contrast to Debbie M’s statement you do not want the socks to match the tie they should always compliment the trousers.

pink, purple, or white
