I’d say no. The tux is a very classic statement, traditionally worn with a bow tie. If there were dozens of "homegrown" variations, you’d see them more often. You could always hedge your bets and stick a "plan B" tie in your car, just in case.

Hmm…I never see neckties worn with tuxedos.

assuming the tux is solid then feel free to wear whatever tie you choose. because most tuxedos are subtle, remember that whatever tie you choose will make a statement of what you wish to represent.
