I have a small smudge (stain) on my silk Italian neck tie. I tried a stain remover but now it looks pretty bad

I don't remember how the smudge or stain appeared but it used to only be visible under certain light. I attempted to use a stain remover but now the marking is actually worse. This is a f***ing gorgeous Italian made Hugo Boss tie in metallic baby blue and silver diagonal stripes. Bought it last year in Europe, phoned the Boss store in my city and they say 2 new fashion lines have come out since and they can only help me find a similar new tie. I really need some help in order to repair this particular tie since I don't really want a new one.

try handwashing it first and if when it is still wet, you still see a spot, take it to the drycleaners

I would try using plain shampoo on a damp cloth and rub gently, if it feels like a greasy stain try sprinkling on some dry baking soda or corn starch and that may absorb some of the grease.shampoo takes the grease out of hair and I know it works for shirt collars etc . since im assuming it was expensive and you obviously like it take it to the dry cleaners if all else fails and you need to tell them if you remember what kind of stain and tell them what you have used on it

Throw it out! You can't get stains out of a silk tie and have it look good.

try coca cola! this may sound funny but trust me i gave my grandmother this tip and she poured a can of coke into her wash and it removed all her stains!! there is a website listed below of all the other cool and wacky things you wouldnt believe you could do with coke!

    GOOD LUCK!!!
