Bible says women cant wear neck ties?
I work in an italian restaraunt where for our dress code we must wear a neck tie. Recently, a catholic girl was hired and wasnt wearing a tie because she said it was against her religion. this seems odd to me.
(im not catholic or dont attend church so could someone clarify this for me? Thanks!

Hello, I am a Catholic & attend Christian college. We actually had this discussion in my theology class. That belief is rooted in the Bible in the book of Deuteronomy 22:5 "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God."

Part of the laws in the old testament (sorry I can’t tell you exactly which part, I’m sure someone else will) say that men should not wear women’s clothes and vice versa.

I’ll admit, I haven’t been Catholic for a number of years, but . . . that sounds like complete bullshit. Yeah, I don’t EVER recall anyone saying women wearing neckties is even a venial sin. I think she just doesn’t like to wear neckties, and she’s snowballing you. That’s what I think.

Sorry, but she’s just trying to get out of wearing a tie. Catholicism has lots of rules, but that’s not one of them. Heck, look at Catholic school uniforms…. a lot of times the girls had to or had an option to wear a tie of sorts. And even in the COE schools the girls still have a tie as part of their uniform.

I think it has something to do with the bible saying women and men shouldn’t wear each-others clothing ,but really it’s just a necktie and women workers wear it. I think it’s only for extremes like transvestites thats sinful.
